How the coronavirus is affecting our business

Suzanne and Robert Trevellyan

Running a two-person web development and IT services company from our home has advantages and disadvantages. Now, during the current coronavirus outbreak and Governor Cuomo’s orders to stay home, we are experiencing one of the advantages.

Working from home every day means that all our computers, files and supplies are at our fingertips. While we are not inviting clients into our office at this time, we are still very much open for business.

Office hours, as always, are Monday-Friday 9:00am-6:00pm

While we prefer to meet our clients and visit their business in person at some point during each project, most of the work that we do doesn’t require face-to-face interaction. We continue to help our clients build and maintain a strong web presence. Whether we’re building a new website or updating an existing site, performing a technical review or search engine optimization project, we’re just a phone call or email away.

Technical support services during self-isolation

One service we offer that is being impacted is tech support. We maintain the computers of dozens of individuals and small business clients throughout Columbia County. Per the governor’s PAUSE order, we are unable to make house calls. However, we offer remote support services during regular business hours, Monday-Friday 9am-6pm. Remote support tools allow us to log into a client’s computer, see what they see, and guide them through to resolving the problem. While this approach cannot solve every problem, we find that many of the issues encountered by a small office can be solved this way. This service does require that the device be connected to the internet.
