Way back in 2014 we wrote an article titled Content Ideas to Drive Website Traffic. In that article we offered 10 ideas for writing new content. Today we’d like to expand on one of the points, #5: FAQs.
First of all, an FAQs page is often one of the most frequently visited pages on a website. This page allows visitors to find answers to several common questions all in one place.
While cornerstone copy should also try to answer these questions, having an FAQs page can make it easier for the reader to find the answer to their question more quickly. In addition, it can save you time and resources when you don’t have so many people contacting you directly for answers.
Why create a FAQ blog post when the answer can already be found on another page?
An FAQs page is traditionally intended to provide brief and concise answers to common questions. However, there may be times when you’d like to expand on an answer. By giving an answer that is more in-depth, you are able to offer more information about a topic, as well as address different scenarios.
Once you create your FAQ blog post, be sure to link the question on the FAQ page to the new, expanded answer on the blog.
It could look like this:
Q. Do you ship internationally?
A. Yes, we ship to Canada and Mexico. Learn more about international shipping.
Trust is a critical factor for success in business
Adding strong content to your blog on a regular basis is important. By providing free information, you are reinforcing the idea that your business is an expert in its field. When the reader believes that you are an authority and that you honestly want to help them, they will begin to trust you.
People don’t want to do business with people they don’t trust. An FAQ blog post is a good start. Demonstrate that you are interested in being of service and that you have their best interest in mind.
